The Department of Community Supervision (DCS) was created by HB310 in the 2015 Legislative Session. As part of the executive branch of Georgia’s government, the Department of Community Supervision (DCS) is responsible for the supervision of approximately 180,000 adult felony offenders and Class A and Class B designated juvenile offenders. It is our mission to protect and serve all Georgia citizens through effective and efficient offender supervision in our communities, while providing opportunities for successful outcomes.
We currently have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Community Coordinator in District 10- Alcovy Circuit/Covington Office/Newton and Walton counties/Covington, Georgia.
Responsibilities for this position will include:
Under broad supervision, conducts research involving data collection and analysis, develops and implements policy, and administers social services programs. Provides technical assistance/training to internal and external service providers, developing policy interpretation, contractual services, and/or evaluating quality and management. Provides direction and support for the ongoing operation of specialized programs. Monitors the programmatic and financial activities. Monitors compliance, evaluates effectiveness, and recommends/implements improvements to existing policies. May serve as mentor to new supervisors and staff. Identifies, plans, and implements the development and utilization of local resources. Identifies and assesses economic and social developments. Develops social programs, social legislation, or proposals based on demographics, social and economic analysis and the evaluation of pilot projects. Develops policies and procedures in accordance with laws and regulations related to primary programs. Develops and delivers formal and informal training. Designs and publishes plans for assessing the needs of the programs and the implementation of the plans. Conducts research, develops social programs, assesses, coordinates, and develops awareness of existing services and ensures that duplication is avoided. Collects and analyzes data related to performance indicators and resources. Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas. Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience, One year of which as a supervisor or lead worker OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of related experience OR Two years of experience at the lower level Social Svcs Prgm Consultant 2 (SSP041) or position equivalent.
