Further Processing Supervisor
The Further Processing Supervisor contributes to the success of Keystone Foods by directing the team to meet customer needs and achieve standards related to safety, quality, cost, efficiencies, and waste. This individual is responsible for leading union general production employees. This position is located in Camilla, GA and essential duties and responsibilities include and are not limited to:
Facilitating, developing and evaluating employees in assigned areas to make sure that our standard operating procedures are being followed in a safe and consistent manner; training/coaching employees as needed;
Maintaining manpower placement sheets on a daily basis, post overtime sheets and qualified training sheets as directed by the Lead Manufacturing Manager;
Maintaining the consistent flow of processing raw materials to produce maximum efficiency, quality and throughput; investigating and monitoring production problems to help reduce and/or eliminate waste;
Checking operations regularly to insure that processes, schedules, quality and safety standards are maintained;
Working with formulations to establish correct mixture of ingredients or processing of products and recommending/ making changes as necessary;
Coordinating activities of department with other production departments to maintain proper product flow;
Directing the flow of materials to assigned areas to maintain a smooth flow of work including overseeing the unloading and/or movement of raw and/or finished product for processing daily;
Maintaining assigned areas in clean, orderly condition; assuring that areas are safe and safe working practices are followed; and
Exercising proper care and maintenance of assigned tools, equipment and facilities.
A high school diploma or equivalent (required) and at least 3 years operations experience in line production (required); candidates with an Associate’s degree preferred; candidates with supervisory experience in a union shop, and/or experience in a high speed production environment in the food industry, preferred;
Experience leading and coaching quality/process improvement projects, ideally through the Six Sigma DAIS process and methodology, preferred;
Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision making to achieve organizational objectives; with an ability to problem solve and facilitate solutions with limited direction;
Strong planning, organization, customer service, and written/verbal communication skills;
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with demonstrated ability to work with and building effective teams; and
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
